The old Turia river bed:
The river
Turia, starts way up in the neighboring mountains, ran in the middle of the
city and out towards the sea, but in the mid 50's a dreadful storm and high
tide saw the river burst its banks, and it flooded the centre of Valencia to a
depth of two metres. A
plan was created during the massive clean-up to divert the river from its present
passage and so it was enroute elsewhere, to ensure that this kind of flooding
never happen again. This project created a beautiful park right in the centre
of the city which is must to visit.

The Albufera, is a freshwater lagoon and bay on the Gulf of
Valencia coast of the Valencian Community in eastern Spain. It is the main
